I’ve done a quite a few things such as start a festival, be elected for local government, purchase over 8 million dollars worth of computers and plant 6000 trees. Writing a novel is my latest passion.

I was born in Burnie, Tasmania and grew up there before moving to mainland Australia for university and a project management career. I studied biochemistry and information technology. I married Nathan. Fifteen years and three states later, grandparents and the wild outdoors of Tasmania attracted us back home. We made adventurous plans and after the birth of our daughter Emma, settled on a 60ha farm to grow hazelnuts. Our son, Simon was born and I left professional work to manage the farm, build a processing facility and market the nuts we produced as Tamar Valley Hazelnuts. I ran for local council and was elected three times. After ten years of happy memories, hard work and a great community we decided to try something new. We’ve been living in Penguin for a couple of years now – catching up with cousins who live nearby and swimming in the ocean we can see from our house. I’m working for the health department capturing requirements for digital solutions.

I’m focusing on developing a new career – an novelist. I’ve ideas for three or four novels, and Wilful Murder is my first.
