Burnt (working title) is the true story of a pioneering family chopping and clearing their way along the coast of northwest Tasmania. Ann, the eldest daughter of two convicts, is accused of murdering her new born baby. After being sent to prison, she rebuilds her life; learning to read and write. Though, she wishes to become a successful woman and to do that she must do something about her husband and make peace with her family. Her brother Henry spent thirteen years on the goldfields and when he finally manages to get back to Tasmania he can’t find his family again. While his brother Charlie a bullock driver who works his way through the northwest, helps them both to reconnect.
