Books To Read

If you like Tasmania:
Limberlost by Robbie Arnott – I loved reading this, short but compelling and great description of everyday bush life.
The Deep by Kyle Perry – enjoyed the unusual drug dealing hero, the twisty motivations of the characters and the scenery I could taste and feel.

If you like historical fiction:
The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams – great women’s view of a traditionally male story about the Oxford dictionary’s beginnings.
Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon – my all time favourite cross between romance, fantasty and historical fiction. Later tomes are less interesting than the earlier ones but once your addicted you can’t stop.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak– beautiful and terrible description of WWII from the German child’s perspective. Rich and layered.

If you like fantasy:
Assassins series by Robin Hobb – all her books are well written and engaging. Characters are unusual and interesting. A must for lovers of fantasy.
A View from the Mirror series by Ian Irvine – love the detail, adventure, crafting and pace.
